SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY: Enjolie Wright

Enjolie Wright was born on December 2, 1989 in Toronto, ON, Canada. She is the eldest of seven children- three brothers and three sisters. Being the eldest of so many children automatically prepared her for a role in leadership. With her father being a successful entrepreneur himself, Enjolie was always encouraged to be a leader and her own boss. Enjolie excelled in her studies in Small and Medium Enterprise Management with a focus in Entrepreneurship. This proved to be an asset when embarking on many smaller ventures throughout her youth and early twenties.

At the age of 23, Enjolie gave birth to her son Grayson Micah and made the decision to be the best version of herself in order to inspire her son to do the same. In October 2015, Enjolie lost her job working as a stylist in cosmetics and was forced to think of new ways to provide for her son. In November 2015, Enjolie began contracting her skills as a makeup artist to large brands such as NARS, L’Oréal, and Anastasia Beverly Hills. She continued to expand until ultimately, she was able open her own studio in May 2016. Enjolie continues to pursue her ambitions as an entrepreneur with plans to start several more businesses relating to beauty, fashion, media, and empowering other entrepreneurs. With God as the center of everything she does and her son as her greatest motivation, it is safe to say this is only the beginning.

WHAT ENJOLIE WRIGHT MAKEUP ARTISTRY AND STUDIO DOES

“We provide makeup artistry services for weddings and special occasions, skincare advice, workshops, and lessons. We also have an open studio available for photo shoots, video, and small meetings and events.”

ENJOLIE WRIGHT MAKEUP ARTISTRY AND STUDIO’S BUSINESS NICHE

Enjolie says: “My business is known for its culturally diverse clientele. In the makeup industry it is easiest for clients to choose an artist based on their nationality and skin color. Being multi-racial myself, I understand the unique needs of all skin color ranges and made it a priority to create a team of artists that have that same understanding. We pride ourselves on the ability to provide the best experience and service to suit everyone’s individual needs. This service is not limited to complexion needs, but also the skincare needs of each client.

We are also known for having an open studio. Our studio not only acts as a makeup studio, but a studio space available to other artists, stylist, photographers, and videographers to utilize to build their portfolios, work on projects, and meet with clients. It also provides a network in which artists can connect with photographers, etc.”

HOW ENJOLIE WRIGHT MAKEUP ARTISTRY AND STUDIO GOT STARTED

“In October 2015, I was let go from my job in cosmetics. Being a single mother my greatest fear was not being able to maintain my home and the needs of my son. Unable to come up with a solution on my own I was forced to be obedient and listen to what God had been calling me to do. In more ways than one, God had been speaking to me regarding starting businesses, but I was driven by fear and never took that step. Finally, with no other options I chose to surrender to God and utilize my skills in makeup to generate wealth. By April 2016, I was in a position to invest in a studio and by May 1, 2016 I was a fully functioning makeup artistry business with a dynamic team of artists.”

WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE FUTURE

“I am excited to say I am currently taking on international clients. I am also looking to expand my studio and to provide further resources to makeup artists and photographers such as computers, software, equipment, and workshops.
