SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY: Josephine Quaye
Josephine Quaye is a dynamic singer and educator who has been performing for almost 20 years. She was trained at Mason Gross School of the Arts at Rutgers University and has sung at Carnegie Hall, Jazz at Lincoln Center and many Cathedrals and venues throughout the tri-state area. She most enjoys singing solo repertoire that includes classical, jazz and contemporary styles and will soon be recording some of her favorite covers. As an educator she is committed to the success of her students and loves being a part of their academic and musical growth. As the owner and founder of Quaye Institute of the Arts she has the pleasure of creating more opportunities for students to develop their artistic skills through music and art.

HOW QUAYE INSTITUTE OF THE ARTS GOT STARTED
“Planning for Quaye Institute of the Arts began in 2012. After much planning and prepping, we opened our doors in 2014 offering private vocal classes. We quickly grew and were able to add dance and creative writing. After a successful year of teaching voice, dance and creative writing we were able to add violin to the roster. The students loved it and the parents were so grateful for the experience we were able to offer their children.”

Josephine explains: “In spite of all the challenges that come with starting something new, time and time again I have succeeded. An intense prayer life and great faith has made it possible for me to have the courage to start making my dreams come true. Success has not always looked and felt the way that I thought it would but I am grateful for the moments that I can look back on with pride knowing the amount of courage it took to just take the leap and START! We have so much more work to do and a lot of ground to cover but we have made amazing strides towards greatness and I am looking forward to exceeding all expectations.”
