SPOTLIGHT SATURDAY: Justine Avila
Justine Avila is the founder of A Jolie Design located in South Florida. After leaving the financial industry, she earned her residential design diploma from The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale. She is a designer who was able to find a new way to express her love for design that didn’t take her away from being the mother she wanted to be.

HOW A JOLIE DESIGN GOT STARTED
After the birth of my first daughter I knew that I would not be able to go back to the fast paced yachting industry and spend time with my family. One day I walked into Michael’s, the arts and crafts store and picked up a bunch of things to create “name” accessories for my daughter Aidan. I was inspired by the feedback that I got from the family and friends who saw Aidan’s nursery that I decided to start my own design and children’s accessory company.

Justine explains: My parents have always taught me to strive for excellence and never settle. I grew up watching them balance careers and family and they never let me or my 4 siblings down. They have pushed and supported me throughout my life and showed me how to fight for want I want in life.
